A pedagogy first approach to learning, strongly rooted in gameful design will unleash an educational revolution

I’m a big believer in thinking and building in public. I also subscribe to the notion that while we may never really know the answers to all our problems, we need to be clear on what problems we care about. Here are mine.

In this newsletter, I’ll be sharing my latest musings and thoughts on everything from:

• Learning through games and play

• Drawing lessons from physical training, and practice routines that we can bring to our learners across the board

• The best ways to identify and nurture top talent that is bound for outsized return

• Literacy - especially Arabic literacy

I run a venture builder focused on the learn-to-earn cycle in emerging markets - BLDR Ventures from London.

Before that I spent nearly 10 years working in education and technology across the MENA region. I’ve spent most of my time with the incredible team at Edraak.org pioneering online learning for Arabic speakers but I’ve also dabbled with neuroscience and education at Harvard.

Most importantly, I’m incredibly passionate about the power of learning to transform lives and people and I’m always looking to learn more myself.
